A Hero's Journey: Harry M

This picture shows my first medal as a player for IDF. It was taken back in 2017 when our 05 team won the Lake Norman Fall Classic.

I chose this picture because it made me stay at IDF. I had tried out for the club 3 months earlier but got there late, so I had to do Coach Wilson's fitness. I was already thinking what was I getting myself into. I remember when we went for a water break coach Wilson told me don't be late again and that I learned the hard way. Then we moved into possession drills and I kept losing the ball and everyone was yelling at me. After that practice i told my dad i didn't want to go back and wanted to do ncfc. My dad told me no IDF is the right club and the right coaching you need.

I had believed in my dad and I had stayed at IDF for the next few months where I got a little better already. Then it was time for my first game/tournament with the team. I was really nervous and i didn’t expect to win.

After all we did not win but I scored my first IDF goal in the second game. After that tournament I knew I was going to stay at IDF. I’ve been at IDF for three years now, and I am happy that my dad told me to stay with IDF, where the coaches have taught me so much on and off the pitch. - HARRY M, IDF PLAYER SINCE 2017
